Industree Foundation recently hosted a delegation from the Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) at our Bengaluru office for a strategic discussion on the next phase of our bamboo partnership.

The delegation was led by Shri Moa Sangtam, Joint Secretary, RD & Mission Director, along with

Shri M Rollan Lotha, COO, Programme, Shri A. Tiasenba Longchar, SPM, Non-Farm, Shri Renvungo Murry, SPM, MIS, Shri Atenjen Lemtur, PM, Farm, Smt. Lentinaro, PM, Non-Farm.

Given Nagaland's strong bamboo resource base, the discussion focused on how the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY - NRLM) Bamboo Subsector Programme can help build a more organised, market-linked value chain in the state, while creating meaningful opportunities for women across cultivation, processing, and enterprise development.

In the near term, proposed areas of collaboration include quality planting material, plantations, primary and secondary processing infrastructure, and strengthening local enterprise capabilities.

Over the longer term, the focus shifts to connecting these building blocks with certification, traceability, industry, and markets, creating a pathway for women to capture greater value across the bamboo economy and contribute to the Lakhpati Didi ambition.

As part of the visit, the NSRLM team also took a virtual tour of our operations, including the Sagara PPU, Channapatna SPU, our creative manufacturing units, and the Bamboo Tissue Culture Lab, followed by a showcase of products from across our portfolio.

From Nagaland's bamboo resources to women-led enterprises and markets, the opportunity ahead is to build this value chain together.
