At Mumbai Climate Week, Remya Devan, Senior Manager at Industree Foundation, highlighted bamboo’s growing role in fostering inclusive rural growth during a roundtable on “Bamboo Value Chains: Driving Agro-Economic Growth in Maharashtra.”

In the discussion with stakeholders from Transform Rural India, Maharashtra Institution for Transformation (MITRA), and WRI India, Remya emphasized that sustainability begins with the right ecology and ownership models. Choosing suitable bamboo species for each ecological zone and strengthening community ownership are key to building resilient value chains and linking producers to domestic and global markets.
Looking forward to more such platforms to learn, exchange knowledge, and strengthen collective action for sustainable livelihoods.
